Please Support HoldYou Families Today.

Hi Friends,

Please sponsor my spin in support of HoldYou Foundation's Cycling Fundraiser! Help me to reach my goal of $3000!

These critical funds will help families who are facing work disruption, unpaid leaves and income loss to care for their children in medical crises. Your gift means a family facing food, housing and energy insecurity during their child's treatment will have immediate support for their basic needs. And their child will have the love and support of a parent advocate by their side during their hardest days. Please help courageous families like Johny's.

Johny's Story

Johny is an exceptionally lovable 8 year old boy who was born with biliary atresia -- a rare disease of the liver and bile ducts that occurs in infants. He received his first liver transplant just before his 2nd birthday, and due to complications, he required a second transplant just five days later. When his second liver transplant began to fail, Johny was placed on the waiting list and waited for three years until he became too sick to stay at home. He was admitted to UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital for three months until the call came that would save his life. During his extended admission, his grandmother, who has custody of Johny and his siblings, remained constantly at his bedside. Because of her love and concern for her grandson, she was unable to work, and her business was shut down. This created yet another incredible hardship on this family who was already extremely worried about Johny's very serious medical condition.

While Johny was in the hospital, the family was referred to HoldYou Foundation for assistance. Thanks to the HoldYou Foundation, the family’s water, electric, and gas bills were able to be paid at a time when the family needed to be focused on little Johny and not their finances. Johny’s grandmother wanted to tell HoldYou, “Thank you for your help. We were really, really happy for the help they were able to give us.”
